ABOUT ME

Connecting Plant Stress Research with Field Agriculture

Porag Kumar Das is an agricultural researcher from Bangladesh whose work centres on plant stress physiology, particularly how crops respond to drought and salinity. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Honors) from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, where his undergraduate thesis examined the effect of drought stress on the germination and seedling growth of rice. From 2021 to 2025 he worked as a Research Assistant in the Plant Biology and Biofunctional Chemistry Lab of BAU's Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, conducting research on mitigating the adverse effects of abiotic stresses through exogenous applications of chemical and biological protectants. Alongside research, he has built extensive field experience in Bangladesh's agricultural sector with ACI Limited, Uttaron and JBM Agrovet. His interests include oxidative stress and antioxidant defense, plant molecular biology, crop stress tolerance, crop improvement and climate-resilient agriculture.
